Great Events Group began as a small catering company over 30 years ago and has now grown into one of the top food & beverage holding companies in Calgary. Housing eight unique brands, Great Events Group is proud to occupy specific niches in Calgary’s foodservice industry and to provide excellence in service to both corporate and social clients throughout the city.

Our story

  • In 2017, we imagined an event that would change the local food scene and introduced an innovative pop-up dining concept to Calgary foodies. Lead by our award-winning Executive Chef Daryl Kerr, our team at Great Events Group hosted Foodies in the Park, an exploration into the artistry of ingredients.

  • Our Foodies in the Park journey continued with the creation of pop up dinner installations. Hosted in translucent garden domes, our series of dome events would start in the heart of Fish Creek Provincial Park. These pop ups would offer the ultimate gastronomic experience that connects food with nature and creativity.

  • Year 2020 took an unexpected turn. Our spring Foodies in the Park event was postponed and Al Fresco Dome Dining was born. A dinner series celebrating cuisines from around the world, set in our garden domes reimagined as travel capsules. A culinary trip to France and A Taste of Mediterranean were the hottest travel ticket in town within the backyard garden of the Bow Valley Ranche.

  • The first edition of Foodies in the Park presents Wonderland – a whimsical place where magic defies reality and lets you immerse into a world of sensorial experiences. Follow the white rabbit into a fairy tale dome adventure, set in the picturesque Artisan Gardens of Fish Creek Provincial Park.

  • Winter had us thinking of tropical getaways for our second Foodies in the Park edition. Escape the winter chill and take a trip to a tropical garden igloo at the Devonian Gardens. Indulge in exotic flavours surrounded by a botanical oasis. Book your vacation today.

We select a different landmark location to encompass our vision for each theme and new edition. From Fish Creek Provincial Park to Downtown Calgary, our domes travel around the city as a creative pop-up restaurant.
